- India Gate
Ignoring the famous Paris de Triomphe in Paris, the equally stunning Indian Gate is a magnificent stone arch built as a memorial to the Indian soldiers killed in WWI. Under a huge structure, eternal flames burn, and the walls are engraved with the names of more than 90,000 soldiers who died in the conflict. Standing at the bottom of the red stone and topped by a shallow dome filled with occasional burning oil usually only on important memorial days, the structure controls the surrounding park area, which is always a popular area for tourists and locals alike parking or simple rest. For a real treat, try to see the Indian Gate at night, which is considered one of the freest things to do in New Delhi with Delhi tour packages. This and the surrounding mountains are amazing when it comes to flooding.
- Lotus Temple
It is also known as the Lotus Temple because of its magnificent Nine Temple and its stunning central domes. Made of white concrete and marble, the whole structure looks as delicate as a flower. As it rises from the surrounding nine ponds, it looks like it was bursting open at any moment. It was built in 1986, the temple has since attracted more than 70 million tourists and has become one of the most popular attractions in the world interestingly; there is no idol, religious icon, or external symbol of religion in this amazing place of prayer. Another modern temple worth visiting is the ISKCON Temple with Delhi one day tour package, it is one of the largest Krishna temples in the country.
- Jama Masjid
The Jama Mosque was one of the largest mosques in India and was the last architectural art of the Shah Jahan. Completed in 1658, this beautiful structure consists of three gates, a quadrangular tower, and two towers 40 meters high, made of red sandstone and white marble, and elegantly replaced in vertical lines. Tourists can climb to the top of the south tower to see the majestic scenery of Old Delhi, then visit the large central pool used for washing before prayers (visitors must remove their shoes and dress appropriately before entering; non-Muslims are not allowed during prayers). Next, visit Chandni Chowk, a major area in Old Delhi and a market area dedicated to shopping and dining. Of particular interest are the Naya Market and Gadodial, the famous spice market, where you can see hundreds of items including pineapple, pomegranate, ginger, saffron, lotus seeds, chutneys, and pickles.
